It’s hard to believe that the CTO Caribbean Travel Media awards are back again for another year. It’s becoming one of the most anticipated events during WTM. The end of the Summer, and didn’t we have a hot one, leads straight in to Back To School and a frenzy of travel industry events and awards all vying for attention. The competition is rife but here at River we are working hard at making sure that the awards get the recognition they deserve.
But it is your entries we need to make it a success. The Caribbean Travel Media Awards are an opportunity to celebrate and reward the very best media coverage of the Caribbean. While also recognising the hard work behind each article or post. In 2017, we had over 120 entries, with a record number of social media campaigns. The 2017 Awards introduced, for the first time, a Social Media category.

After an exhausting three days at World Travel Market we gladly sat down to speak to one of the UK’s top travel bloggers @WanderlustChloe about her experiences and why she loves to travel…..
Why did you start – ‘Wanderlust Chloe’? A few years ago I decided to leave my stressful London job, travel and have an adventure. I booked flights and spent three months exploring Mexico, Central America and Cuba. Just before I left, I set up a blog just for fun! It was basically for friends and family and a little hobby for me to do on the road. I returned from travelling and decided I had a serious bout of wanderlust and I wanted to see more of the world so I updated the design and looked at the blog as a serious platform for sharing tips, photos and more with fellow travel lovers around the world. The rest, as they say, is history.

It’s hard to believe a year has passed since our annual travel blogger’s meet-up! It seems like we were having that long and productive lunch at the Rum Kitchen just yesterday! Wow, time flies.

Forget being miserable in February, it’s time to start planning for the months ahead and #RiverRecommends some great ideas. With lighter nights meaning longer days we’ve decided to be more cultural here in the River office and sample not only what London has to offer but also to don our sequins, dust off our feathers and head to Mardi Gras in New Orleans for a slice of pure carnival. … Continue reading
